during the megalopolan debrief, fernando was the one to suggest forsaking the far islands (sootopolis, mossdeep, ever grande) in order to establish a centralized foothold in mauville.

dahlia, kim, and fernando agreed on this and that’s why mauville was a bunker for defense.

fernando specifically pulled the following people into METEOR FALLS:

ALEXANDER STONE was the only high ranking LEAGUE member in lilycove’s warfront.



THE TWISTS:

as a council member and head of logistics, fernando has a strong hand in how resources are divvied up. it can be argued he had a part in where official LEAGUE characters ended up.

his emphasis on mauville drafted or influenced the following character onto that warfront:

Katherine Fairburne (elite 4)
kyle lopez (elite 4)
Bailey Cooper (champion)
cait alfric (celebii avatar / gym leader)



by calculating everyone’s personality, stakes in the war, and exerting his own influence, fernando ensured lilycove was understaffed and the most likely warfront to have causalities once ALEXANDER STONE was confirmed to be stationed there.

it wasn’t guaranteed but considering his innate heroism, reputation as a leader, and influence as ex-champion, fernando was sure stone would risk his life on the front lines for the sake of the hoenn people.



THE RESULTS:

and with stone dead, whatever political alliance he had brought up dissolve instantly.

freya morningstar, an ex-council member aligned with stone, would cast herself into isolation after suffering mental trauma from various injuries. there is no stone to support and coax her out of self wallowing.

Olivia Abbiati, an ex-council member and initial drafter of the AQUA INIATITIVE, would have no one else to support her considering her inflammatory past.

devon corp would crumble under the only stone’s available (DAPHNE STONE) to take it up seeing as none of them had any interest / were in the region / were proficient in business.

dahlia goode, who may have aligned herself with stone, would had to hedge her bet on the still living / very experienced silph.
